Lonely nights

Old age is said to have its advantages, what they are said to be I won't quarrel with. Such advantages however, are rather slim and far in between. Time moves slowly for lack of activities one can participate in and a couch potatoe I don't long to be.
I find cyberspace a comfortable place I
can lose myself in, particularly in the
search of men and or women I can exchange thoughts, views and opinions with. Unfortunately, not too many octogenarians on line these days -- would welcome a quick contact with whoever finds himself/herself in the same boat and willing to give a try.

Who ever coined the phrase "Goden Years" lied - I find getting older not bad but lonely, a person over 60 just doesn't seem to fit in and playing cards once a week doesn't cut it for me. Mind you the bar scene marketplace is not place for me wither - so what to do - I travel in cyberspace and in the books I read and the volunteer services I take part in. These events though do not take the place of a cherished companion do they?

I think the biggest advantage to older age is the freedom to be however you really are without the pressure to live up to some ideal image of success.
