I am a woman who is optimistic about the present and the future. I retire in approximately 27 months so I am looking forward to moving to Manitoba (possible with my work) soon so that I can be nearer my children/grandchildren who live in and near Winnipeg, MB. I love people, but I also need my own space to retreat in order to" recharge my batteries".I love music, listening to the radio and CD's, watching films on TV, walking, talking pictures of people and sceneries. I want to go to the Maritimes this spring because I have been there. I have lived in the province of Quebec for almost 8.5 years. I was raised in Fort Frances, Ont and moved to Manitoba in 1967. So perhaps I am a bit of a gypsy. I am missing home (Manitoba) more and more every day, but I love Montreal and the province of Quebec. I am called "une anglaise" here because I speak French with an English accent! My grandparents all came from Quebec, so I don't like being called an anglophone! I have probably picked up some Quebecois habits here, just like I picked up some Ukrainian habits and ways of cooking in Manitoba. I seem to like people different than I but people who are understanding and caring. I want friendship first; then, more if it is to be. I lived with a Quebecois for over 8 years in a common-in-law relationship. Never again. I will never live with a man again unless I am married. I miss having a man in my life and the closeness of being able to open up to someone you trust. I have been on own since Dec/09 but had been not close to my ex-partner for several months. Anyway, perhaps I am talking too much......More to follow!
