    Hello, Florence. Remember me?
We certainly aren't doing very well at becoming pen pals, are we? I guess it is my fault.

I was wondering if your daughter is still in Goose Bay? I seem to remember that you said her husband was a principal there. I was wondering if they would stay another school year or try to transfer to another place.

Our weather here in KY is great right now. The evenings get chilly and the days are quite mild. I love this time of year.

    O.K. That's enough of a chit-chat.
    Take care - A.J.

Pattie - I haven't looked at Zoomers for weeks and just found your note. So sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. That has surely changed your life. I hope you have friends/family close by that can give you comfort and encouragement.

In regards to FL, the trailer that I bought was not expensive. There are several Canadian snowbirds that live in my park. Next door is a lovely couple from Ontario. He-a retired principal. She-a psych nurse. Fun people

The expense for me was getting TO FL. While there all winter, I only spent the same amt that I would have spent in KY for groceries and supplies. My sister drove me from KY and it cost $149 one way for gas and 1 overnight.

If we become good friends, I might invite you to stay with me. Course we don't even know each other yet. If I continue to be such a tardy person with my correspondence, we will probably never become friends. Sorry. I promise to check my Zoomers page more often. -A.J.

Hello, Florence. I am A.J. That stands for Alice Jane, but everyone c alls me A.J.
I'm writing to you because I lived in Goose Bay, Labrador back in 1969-70. It was a great year. I was so young and all excited about seeing the world. What a place to start!

I was teaching at the American school at that air base. One weekend a group of us flew into Gander and drove over to St. John's. I was SO impressed with that lovely city and that beautiful harbor. Do you live close to either of those places? I would love to find a good pen pal from around Goose Bay.

Four weeks ago I arrived in Florida at my new winter 'home.' Actually it is a mobile home, but is so nice. I think I am really going to enjoy being here for the winter.

Do you think we could become pen pals? even if you don't live near Goose Bay or St. Johns. If so, please write back and let's get to know each other.

Regards - A.J., now living in Auburndale FL, USA
